Interesting, emotional

I heard a review on NPR. I have no interest in sports, but this sounded interesting - like the last 2 years of Friday Night Lights, where the coach had to go to the 'bad' school. (and where is Smash's Mom? She would have straightened ALL these guys out!) ;>
The first football game went on too long, and I zipped to the conclusion. This is a good documentary, and puts you through the wringer at times. They could have focused on some other players, but the two were interesting. And I wish they would have gone deeper into what happened to the players. But maybe this doc is too new? It would be interesting to see a half hour update, every year or so. Or maybe it was best to leave it where they did. Only 2% of HS football players play in college. And only 2% of those grads make it to the majors.

One thing that really bugged me, which has nothing to do with the movie. ESPN had their premier for this movie on a Saturday night. I remembered to set the DVR. And what did I see? Some endless sports score show! How can they be that CARELESS!
But it ran again a week later, and I got to see it.
