mainly cause there is no Gyllenhaal and his crap, never understood hype around him nor what is so special about his acting, he is pretty horrible in most of his films, like Prince of Persia for example

that ied scene alone was more tense than the whole first part all together
Half of the times the flashes were pc shopped onto the scene when they shoot, terrible acting, horrible filming (like the guy exploding from the grenade launcher, the guy flying with an rpg on his chest)... This was a low budget ripoff dude

Yes this movie was far more entertaining than the first one and deserved a theatrical release. The first Jarhead was boring though I guess it was the point for us the audience to feel what the characters felt. I was itching to see some combat action in the end.
This movie really delivers. Great feel good film about American heroes fighting against Islamic terrorists in Afghanistan.
