Contains the best action sequence of 2014.

The film is not as good as The Raid 2 or John Wick, but it does contain one of the best action sequences of the year. The showdown in the apartment building is the bloodiest, most kinetic, and thrilling action sequences of the year.

It's not similar at all. All of the Hong Kong action films you mentioned are superbly shot and edited. This one uses shaky cam garbage and careless quick editing as influenced sadly by Hollywood which ruins what otherwise could've been stellar action.

No Tears For The Dead's story had more potential but The Man from Nowhere's story was better executed. However, The Man from Nowhere's action scenes were also subpar thanks to Hollywood influenced shaky cam garbage and bad editing.

Not even close to The Raid or The Raid 2. It dragged a little at the end. Overhyped in my opinion. Man from Nowhere was way better.

The acting in English was poor as well.

No, it wasn't.

It seems from your comments you are one of these guys that hang out on forums for Hong Kong films and just repeat the same old, tired cliches that everyone else does without even realizing if it fits in particular cases. This wasn't a Hong Kong film from the 80s and 90s where most of the actors doing the English scenes were either bad actors or not actors at all. The acting in the English scenes in this movie were very good.

If anything should be complained about in the English scenes it was Jang Dong Gun's English which was very poor for someone who supposedly grew up his whole life in the U.S. and hadn't been back to South Korea since being a child.

It actually reminded me of Heat. Sound editing is quite good.

My life isn't any better than yours.

That's a bold statement. That apartment scene is nowhere near as good as most of the fights contained in both 'John Wick' and 'The Raid 2.'

The FX were amazing.

It reminds me of 'A Bittersweet Life' (Dalkomhan insaeng)
