If I had known there was no season 2

I wouldn't of watched, there was no ending to this show! I ended up watching on Netflix hadn't heard of it but caught my attention with its high ratings *sigh*

reply

I thought it ended fine.

And, it's have.

reply

A grammar Nazi invariably arrives on the scene in nearly every thread. Oh well, I should of known you'd be here... 

Right. Well, I have to-- I have to go now, Duane, because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth.

reply

Good to know that YOU at least feel that the Nazis existed to ensure correctness in all aspects of human and SUB human life. I would [have] used the word Police but you may have a more secure grounding in the language of your nation. In truth if the use of language deteriorates we will in a few thousand years be communicating at the level of those creatures waiting to get in to the town of Wayward pines.

It is [YOUR BAD] that the 'of' and 'have' words as yet not interchangeable but continue to be used in some form of cool speak or type. FYI Just imagine that oral communication might soon be at the level of text messaging. Letters and clicky sounds. I suppose if an individual is criticised on a message board it will cause the carrying of weapons into a school.

Grammar Nazi should 'of' been written as Grammar POLICE.

reply

Umm... Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man...

reply

What would we do without Communication Police Lt. lancer to work this kind of shít out? Utter chaos would reign down from the digital skies!

reply

Way back in the early days we read something called Netiquette. I know people ignore it now, but there was a really good point made that stuff like that could/should be ignored. The reasoning that made sense to me was that not everybody might be a native English speaker. Also, in my mind, lots of interesting people are not great with spelling or grammar or syntax. So let it go, everybody will be happier.

reply

Same here I wouldnt have bothered wasting so much time..

reply

Agreed. Though I quite liked the show, if I'd known there was no ending I wouldn't have watched it. Netflix really needs to say things like that before we watching the show. Just a "canceled" besides the name would have been enough.

reply

It has an ending. It concludes the season one plotline, also the last scene could lead to season two if it had been renewed. Most TV series do this because most series don't know if it will be renewed when filming the current season.

reply

It HAD an ending, the fact that you didn't understand it has more to do with your intelligence I guess.. Yes it did have an open ending, but that's with a lot of movies/series of this type.
Just to spell it out for you what the actual ending meant, this whole 'experiment' was to create a 'transport device' known as the starchild, with it one could travel to anywhere one wanted..

Wouldn't even know where season 2 should be heading to..

reply

The season 2 will be that everybody in the ship was transported to a distant planet and how to survive there (if season 2 continues).

reply

I really need this show to get picked up and continued. The prospect of it all is incredible. Great acting, dialogue, settings, and characters.

reply

It did have an implied ending. So it's nothing like the Sarah Connor chronicles or numerous other shows.

The implication is that the unseen alien device can now be activated by the star child (reminds me of a cancelled old show with no ending). The ship would shortly be transported to the new planet, which must at least have plant life to have an atmosphere we can breathe.

A second series would be very different, more like Terra Nova. What would make it more interesting would be if a chunk of the surroundings came with them. A disk of a few square miles swaps place with a similar disk. Local citizens wake up after what seems like a quake on a different planet. Only people who know what actually is going on are at the facility, who are busy trying to work out how to tell 600 people that they have arrived 50 years early.
