Did the BFG's voice patterns get real old real quick for anyone?

I did find Jermaine Clement's performance delightful, though. The movie did feel awfully forced like it was trying to be a Norman Rockwell painting come to life.

Speaking of which, I'm not trying to rile nyone up but does it seem to anyone that Spielberg has this weird way of showing Caucasians and how they interact as a family? His perspective has always seen so plasticene, almost obsessive-like. Anyway, something about his dynamics always seem so unnatural to me.

Do you mean Mark Rylance who played the BFG? Jemaine Clement played the chief of the evil giants.

His broken dialect with the constant "I is? Yes, you is!" was cute in the short book where it shows how uneducated he is, but the book really didn't have enough substance for a 2-hour film.
