Too much people food!

I'm just sayin'. That's bad for you, doggie ;)

reply

Halfway through I leaned over and told my brother the dog should have been dead by them.

reply

I am surprised the dog did not get fat

reply

It's definitely bad for the dog to eat all of that. However, I still love the short.

It's also bad for 15 year old boys to ride at near supersonic speed levels on the back of a robot, but I don't see people complaining about that in the film this is attached to so...
Fiction! It's an amazing thing.

Those characters don't exist in what is clearly the everyday real world. And even if they do, it's established that THE GENIE and ELSA are the only ones with magical powers. If other characters in their movies suddenly had powers with no explanation it would be illogical.

Feeding junk food to a dog is easier to do than riding on a self-built flying robot.

reply

I thought it was bad for a older brother to put his younger one on the back of a mo-ped and literally wall-ride a wall. :P

Boys that ride robots and super-heroes are not only fiction, they're fantasy.
Dogs that eat human food irresponsably are fictitious in regard of this short, but are a part of the real world - and when we're talking about a movie for children who may very well not be aware that dogs shouldn't eat human food, there is a great potential for harm.

Imagine if the owner was feeding the dog chocolate. It's well known that it makes dogs and cat sick. But we love chocolate and children will probably not know this. If I were a parent taking my kid to see Big Hero 6 (and if I had one I would, the movie is awesome and so is this short) I would take the time to explain to the child that we can't feed our dog spagghetti. But I wouldn't have the need to talk to my child that he or she shouldn't try to get bitten by a radioctive spider or tie balloons around our house to make it fly. The element of fantasy is clear.

Does it make a bad short? Of course not, it's awesome.

Gotta hand it to the Disney folks, that they don't completelly ignore the behaviour they're displaying: atleast the DVD version contains the text "Adopt a new friend at your nearest animal shelter (and feed them responcibly!)" in the end credits. A child would most likely miss it, but atleast it's there...

It was also bad for the owner to eat like that as well. You see how big he had gotten? Winston saw that his master wasn't happy. When he was with his girlfriend and eating healthy, he was much more happy. Even though Winston loved all the fatty foods he was getting, he understood wasn't the only thing in ones life to make a person or dog happy. The food was a big part of the story in many ways.

IMHO, he pooped it all out. Trust me, we have three dogs, and if they ate that much, it wouldn't take long. My guess, when Winston (the dog) wasn't eatin', he was poopin' (which they thankfully omitted).
