Cage's accent

I'm from New Orleans where I lived for 24 years. New Orleanians don't talk with thick accents. The only ones who do are Challmatians (locals know who I'm talking about) and those who have Cajun French ancestry. As soon as I tell people where I'm from, almost every time they say "you don't have an accent." I respond by saying we don't sound like new Orleanians in the movies.

I saw a test screening of the film s few weeks ago. The accent is pretty subtle, similar to people I've come across in New Orleans.

True enough. If he was from the city proper (which is kind of implied since his dad was mayor), he MAY have a Y'at accent. Then again, there's a better than even chance that he wouldn't even have that.

I feel your pain. I was born and raised in Acadiana, and we don't all have Cajun accents like they portray in the movies.
