I came across this movie on Netflix and decided to give it a chance. While it wont win any awards as a NY resident I felt the acting was pretty well done and believable. The main actress I disliked just as much as her abusive man, Ilya but she was good in her role.
shareI can't attest to the realism, but I can say this film was utterly compelling and, once seen, can never be forgotten. I won't be watching this again for a really long time, but then again, I don't need to because it will stick with me forever.
Everyone here is completely unlikable, which of course is the point. I didn't know much about this film outside of seeing a trailer, but I was intrigued. This felt more like a documentary than a feature film, and it certainly has elements of both. 9/10 stars from me.
