Could someone please explain the ending ?

I liked the movie but the ending just left me confused..

I get that "Peyton" was Nora's alternate personality, but how much of what we saw was real? Did Nora take those 3-D photos? Did the photos exist? Did Nora really kill Dr. Barnes? What exactly happened at the end? At first I thought they Peyton persona was talking to Jack, but then she said something about Peyton hurting Dr. Barnes. Did Nora realize at the very end that Peyton didn't exist (except as the camp counselor)? Does Peyton go away? Or take over? Also, did the grandmother know what Eddie was doing or was she just checked out? I saw the main twist coming from a mile away, but I ended up with more questions than answers.

Thanks! I rewatched it with that list in mind, and I noticed several details that I'd missed before. There are still some things I don't understand, so I'll just keep rewatching until I've figured everything out. :)

Ok THANK U! :) Now its making more since because was pissed that I didn't get this twisted ending after watching it for two hours..and I too wondered if the cop knew she had a split personaity..

Yeah, the ending was very confusing for me, and obviously for a lot of other people too. It was very poorly done. I'm not sure how it could have been done differently, but it should have been more clear what was happening.

Thanks William, I was really puzzled and the notes you've have here really helped. I watched the film after visiting the site and found that I enjoyed "Don't look back" even more so. Thank you for making an interesting, dramatic film. Hope to see you, Lucy, Tyler and Cassidy work together again.

Just watched the movie. Really enjoyed it. Again the ending was very abrupt and very confusing. I really appreciate everything that you have done throughout the movie to make it unbelievably interesting. However, on a first viewing I had no idea what the hell happened at the end. I'm not sure if that was your intention. Or if you'd want us to rewatch the movie over and over and over and over again.
