You know Doug said that he had a dinner date, and Donovan got him to cancel it so that he could work with him - was Peggy his date? I sort of guessing that from the film, as it's sort of hinted at.

I think that would be a fair assumption.

I got the impression that Donovan thought highly of Doug but I guess it's always difficult when someone dates your daughter.

Yes Doug and his daughter were dating behind dads back. Too obvious by daughters reaction more than coincidence.

Thought it would have a bigger part or at least show more of relations ship. Hanks was obviously found of Doug as was hard on him but would have a rye smile after he left. Also when asking about Pryor ...he mentions his age was similar to my Doug or something like that.

So not entirely sure why they were on the down low except afraid of dad / boss repercussions but Dad would have been fine with it.

Maybe in there to show that Hanks character was not this super spy that could figure out everything??
