100 Things I Learned from Olympus

Might be a stretch to come up with 100 as that would require me watching more of it, but:

1. Cyclops has a Foot Fetish
2. $8 WalMart sundresses can pass as Roman attire

6. Torturing someone will cause them to love you with their whole heart.
7. British accents are hard to fake.
8. Sci-fi shows based of Greek/Roman Mythology gets even more confusing.
9. Being Oracle is a tough gig.
10. Having the power to summon demon witches comes in handy when you're lost.
11. Sex melts a cold heart.

12. Ancient Greece has a xenophobic attitude towards outsiders just like in real life but refuses to call them barbarians unlike in real life.
13. Hermes is one spazzy god.
14. Dionysus must have some memory wipe or something, because his wife Ariadne certainly does not recognize Hero nor her mortal life.
15. Ariadne must've gone through some serious *beep* since she is not at all concerned that her demigod children are literally goats.
16. Pandora seems to be such an unlucky name to have considering all that its two bearers have went through.
17. Hero and Theseus from actual Greek mythology have so much in common it would not be a surprise if Hero actual name is Theseus despite some vast artistic liberties having been made with him if that is the case.
18. For some strange reason, Zeus looks like a male version of Echidna, what with with having a serpent for a lower half and all.
19. Also, Zeus must be Hero's ancestor because asides from the serpentine lower body, Zeus looks exactly like a gigantic red-headed version of Hero.
20. Medea did not become a goddess like in actual mythology but is instead one of the damned. It must really suck to be her in this universe.

why would ancient greeks, living before the time of Rome, use the Latin derived word Barbarian?

Yup, gods are spazzy and have magical mid enchantment powers, their lovers all go through some serious shiznit, I would not name a living thing pandora all things considered, pretty sure hero is theseus, and most importantly, Zeus, slayer of the titans, king of the motherfcking gods can look like or who what ever the fck he wants, and if you have any problem with it he is going to turn into a swan and seduce(possibly rape) and impregnate you. because he is zeus, and it's not like he hasn't done that before.

I vote that everyone bitching about this show not be allowed to watch anymore until they have read an actual book of greek mythology. Edith Hamilton or Bulfinch. Then come back and talk about how crazy and messed up this show is. because it isn't, relatively.

Lol, a person like yourself saying people should read up when you start by showing your total ignorance is ironic.

Barbaros is a GREEK term, in fact it is found in Mycenaean Linear B written Greek, (va 1200 BCE).

Whomever writes this show doesn't know a thing about Greek or Roman mythology and it is laughably poorly done.

unfortunately, torturing or abusing someone often does lead to a strange feeling of loyalty. the most common understanding of this is "Stockholm syndrome", but just think of all those abused spouses who stay with their partners....

It's not a sci-fi show. if you think this is, you have a very warped understanding of the term. It's fantasy.

Sex totally melts a cold heart. If you know what you are doing. or even if you don't.. It's really just hormones. look it up. google"bonding after sex".

I took the feet thing to be a reference to Procrustes, one of the trial faced by Theseus ( you get that the hero is Theseus right?). He took guests in and let them sleep on a bed, which he promptly trapped them in. If they were too short, he stretched them out (fatally, think medieval rack, or what they were doing to the oracle with that bent tree) or if they were too tall, chopped off their feet. Dunno what happened if they were exactly right. Toasted bagel and a cup of coffee maybe? It's not exactly true to the millenia old mythology, but I appreciate the nod. And I've done some costuming now and then. these are not so crazy. the coloring especially, of the fabrics, well done. but I guess snark is more fun than actual knowledge. so enjoy your negativity!

No one being negative or ignorant except you. You are trolling

first you lecture people claiming "Barbaros," a term found in written Mycenaean (pre Homeric) Greek is somehow "Roman derived" and now you are claiming he costumes are anything but laughable?

It is clear you have no knowledge of classics or mythology with statements you have made.

And have you looked at the reviews here? there are 30 8-10 star reviews and all but two are brand new accounts which review only this series or one this and one other from the same production company. All but two of the reviews are SHILLS. Look at the user accounts it is obvious -- and desperate

I had the same thought - (Procrustes) as soon as I saw [he who must not be named Theseus] sitting in the foot stocks.
