Can't be just me ... Jacki Weaver

Anyone else think she was just dreadful? Her character was badly written (a euthanasia doctor who finally doesn't do euthanasia) but her acting was just... bad.

The scene when Rex disappears and she asks Julie where he's gone...

The scene where she's looking at the photo while drinking wine...

Good lord.

It's not just you, she (and her character) were bad. She probably knew the film was going to suck and, after that z-grad turkey "Haunt" just couldn't be bothered.

reply

I didn't think she was dreadful, but her acting was definitely the weakest in the movie.

Yes, and call me a prude but I felt the way she said the F word a couple of times didn't fit in with her compassionate cause.

So, hang on. One can't be compassionate and sweary? You haven't met too many doctors or nurses or mental health workers then.

I agree.

I've seen her in a lot of theatre since back in the '60's and this was just Jackie. Lacked any feel for the role.

Needed grit (she's just nice) and some handle on what it must be like to struggle for the unpopular objective of Doctor Death!
