Andy Kaufman, In Memoriam segment

I can't seem to get past his inclusion (credited as "Guest Performer") in the In Memoriam segment of the SNL 40th Anniversary special. Plenty of now-deceased people have guested on SNL over the show's existence, why include him? Why not include George Carlin who hosted the premiere? Or Jim Henson, whose Muppets were actual cast members the first season? Admittedly, I was never really impressed with Kaufman but can't for the life of me understand his inclusion in this segment while so many more talented 'guest performers' were not.

I find Kaufman irritating.

He was alright on 'Taxi' but I'm a fan of the show and he was my least favorite character; his schtick got old quick.
