Horrible, but...

...but I've seen far, far worse (Birdemic, for example). The downbeat ending wasn't bad, and a couple of general ideas were interesting. However, Asylum always bites more than it can chew. They should have been more aware of they $ 300 budget and realize that some scenes are impossible to execute in such context. Also, they should learn to eject stupid storylines and hire actors that are able to, uh, act, no matter how small his/her part may be. In fact, without creasing their budgets, they would achieve better results spending their money in better actos and screenwriters instead of stupid, fake "special" effects.

The main problem is that The Asylum guys are more or less sophisticated con-artists. They don't care about the quality of their flicks at all, in fact I'm sure they achieve better results with effects-laden movies, no matter how horrible, instead of putting a bit more effort in a more polished product.
