He kills aliens with an axe

what is there not to like about this movie, he uses an axe against beings that have conquered interstellar travel.

And yet, no matter how many he chops up, his ax is as clean as a whistle. Such attention to detail.

No, actually, depending on the scene sometimes there was blood or alien goo on his axe after he gets into a scrap.

What was hilarious and completely out of place was when the "elite" captain dude commits euthanasia with that mom in perfect health because she misses her kids. It was extremely "wtf" by its very existence, but after he finally decides to give her the old Ginsu treatment to put her out of her emotional misery, he pulls out the blade and it's clean (as is the table and floor beneath her, i.e. no blood, lol).

Pitiful movie for much of it, but it increased my sentimental positive feelings towards Armageddon and Independence Day, which might have been its intent? Because it sure ripped off from those 2 movies for any scene that was remotely close to being good. The jarring ending completely undid any of that potential, though. Did they run out of money when it came to finding a decent editor?

That I can handle. Bad writing I expect. All the waiters in LA are in these movies so the acting is exactly what I expected. Beautiful people in a G rated movie disappoints. Even the Eurosec ship from doppelgänger in 1969 I can handle. What drove me to give it one star where the dollar store lights stuck on the really cool spacesuits!
