The problem here is that the warmer the earth becomes before the turn comes the longer the cooler period will be, if we heat the planet too much the majority of liveable land could be covered with ice once the next ice-age comes.

The left could allready say i told you so when we passed (there are well researched calculations online) the 11th hour (there used to be plenty of links to a documentary about it, not the one named the 11th hour) - when we passed the point of no return (with the technology then available). What can still save us is increased technological invention and application.

The natural cycle of capitalism is to create structures of common good as regional regulation overtake areas that suffer (major/complete) failures due to unrestricted practises. The power elite plutocrats/aristocrats works against this as equality means a higher competition of positions of power, to mention one reason. The progressive within the elite understand that when the society does well they also thrive.

I do know the feeling of wanting to rub regressive people's face in it but giving in to idiots has never been the right answer. If humanity's largest crisis in history so far gets room to grow, humanity will die (and the planet itself will be fine).

When crisis comes the power elite will try to turn people against people instead of getting stuck with the responsibility for the mess (divide and conquer).
