Why would anyone really be "for" the idea of man-made global warming?

I consider myself an agnostic when it comes to global warming because I actually don't have strong beliefs one way or another, but here is what I really DON'T understand.

There is obviously big money involved in refuting global warning, which doesn't mean it's really happening or that the skeptics are all being paid. But there is a clear financial MOTIVE. Where exactly is the financial motive for believing in global warming? Of course, there are scientists that have fabricated their results to further their career in global warming science, but that's ALSO true in any number of other fields/areas. Why is fabricating results IN FAVOR of global warming specifically going to help anyone's career? Who exactly is paying all these guys off? The Democrats simply don't have enough control over the US tax revenue to insure that all these scientists the WHOLE WORLD OVER are getting paid to falsely promote the idea of global warming.

Similarly, a lot of conservatives do not want their lifestyle or freedom impinged, so they are very disposed to believe global warming is a hoax. But why exactly is it in the interest of LIBERALS to "destroy the US economy" by falsely promoting global warming? Shouldn't everybody prefer that man-made global warming is NOT happening and we all have nothing to worry about?

Regardless of the "facts" being promoted by both side, basic logic should make you more suspicious of the global warming skeptics. And while man-made global warming MAY indeed not be occurring, the idea that all these studies that say it is are just a giant "liberal" conspiracy is frankly just unbelievable and ridiculous.

Maybe they are invested in Vestas or something.

It would not destroy the US economy. Venezuela, Iran, Saudi maybe, but the US?
It's the capitalist view that things go bust and something better can thrive on that.
Also why don't conservatives want to conserve their environment, seems like a bit of a misnomer. Bit like liberals who all don't seem to want liberal gun laws.

And how come liberal is the opposite of conservative, shouldn't it be progressive? The opposite of liberal is fascist.
