Nate's come out scene with Jay

It is done so well, so tastefully and so honest.
I hate those overly dramatic and "forced" come out scenes that have taken place in other shows. Kudos to the screen writers of Kingdom for not repeating those cliches.

Love Jay, he is such a good brother! I hope he can bring Nate and Will back together.

There is nobody Nate loves or trusts more than Jay. For Jay to have the reaction of complete love and good hearted ribbing was what Nate needed to lift a little of the burden. Every scene with those two is great! Man I can't wait for season 3!!!

reply

Wait, was this episode the season finale?

reply

Yes

reply

That scene rang out so honestly and true. It is exactly what I would think a older brother would jokingly say. You better not be a bottom. Lmao. Great scene.

reply

Don't forget the "You smell delightful" line. It is so good. :-)

reply

I keep rewatching the scene and it is so good. What really makes it for me is the beginning when Nate walks in the door and Jay greets him but Nate doesn't reply. From that moment both guys are so good at communicating without saying a word. You can tell that Jay basically asks Nate what's wrong? Nate pulls the card from his pocket in response then Jay gets this look like, oh man, you know what I did don't you? I am always impressed by Tucker's acting but Jonas really held his own in that scene.

God, no! Will is cute n all, but the guy literally workS for the guy that RAPED Nate. If Jay ever finds out how Will and Nate really met...he's gonna flip his *beep* and Will and his rapist boss are gonna end up dead.

I want Nate to date some hot fighter, who's already out. He is the only normal guy in that family, he should have a relatively normal love-life.

reply

I disagree. They like each other, there is no need to over think and over complicate things. I hope Will and Nate will date again.

reply

See now, I don't understand how people can want Nate to date a guy who is going to continue working for a man he knows had Nate raped and is also probably aware that its something his boss does semi-regularly to other young men.

Will is complicit in this and shouldnt be seen in a warm and cuddly way.

reply

Exactly! Will might not be a rapist himself, but he is knowingly working for a rapist AND helping his boss cover his crimes... It doesn't matter how hot he is or how cute his accent is, the guy is trash by association.

Nate deserves someone better.

reply

That is your opinion, but it does not matter. Nate likes Will, they already saw each other a few times and they will probably see each other again after Nate deal with his "in closet" issue sooner or later.

reply

I was hoping the season would somehow conclude with Will finally leaving/ratting out his boss as he's basically an accomplice in Bob's crimes. Maybe we'll get that next season, or they'll have Nate date someone else altogether (which could be likely if Jonathan Howard doesn't reprise the role). I just want to see Nate in a healthy, somewhat open relationship with a cute, nice (actually nice, not "nice guy" nice) young man. I personally am tired of overwrought coming-out stories even if Nate's was handled better than expected in the finale.

reply

I was watching Creed the other day, and Micheal B. Jordon would make a great love interest for Nate.. He's hot, and a fighter :D

reply

Yes... that was fantastic, so very natural too. There's a lot of crappy coming out or discovery scene or even outright having a sudden gay relationship out of nowhere nowadays just because a lot of shows think they have to "represent". Appreciate the sentiment, but execution were often terrible.
