Should Jay stay at Navy Street

Seems like it will be hard to come back to Navy Street Gym in Season 3. The last fight wasnt too big of a conflict in Gym as Jay was too busy self destructing with Ava.

Although Jay never shows it hurts him; sure would be hard to have Father who basically abondoned whole childhood to now pick golden boy Ryan over Jay. Ryan despite their rivalry over Lisa is the "like a son I never had" type. A relative disciplined fighter with the skill and heart and desire. Basically Nate and Jay combined.

In Season 3 Jay has to go on his own and get his "Rocky" build back up thing going on with new trainer. Maybe Him and Lisa start own gym and they could introduce some new trainer character; maybe recent pro fighter that was forced to retire early from career ending injury or quit because he killed someone in ring?? obviosly need someone with issues as no character doesnt have baggage.

I don't think Jay will fight anymore. He worked his ass off for two belts, was the king of the gym and it got him nothing in his eyes. The girl he "loved" was killed and his father turned his back on him to train Ryan. I think we see Jay try to adjust to life away from fighting again.

The good news is Jonathan Tucker is such an awesome actor we don't need to see him in the cage to justify him being on the show.

I disagree. I think Jay is definitely going to fight again. That's what this show is about. I just hope he destroys Ryan, and if he did so with another gym that would be a bonus.

I think Jay should retire from fighting and start training Nate full time. He just doesn't have the heart of a fighter anymore and I'm not sure he ever did. He had no heart in his last fight against Ryan, and you can blame that on his girl being murdered, but he'd lost the heart before that when "nothing changed" after his title win. But even before that, he never seemed very passionate about fighting. He just did it because he couldn't do anything else.

See I think the other way around. Nate doesn't have the heart of a fighter and could see him, jay & lisa starting own gym and compete against Navy Street. With Nate being more of the gym instructor.

Jay just needs to stay clean and he is a killer.

I think Jay should retire from fighting and start training Nate full time.

They are a match made in heaven those two. I think a coach/student relationship between Jay and Nate should be the central plot of the show going forward. Their chemistry is just too good and it's even better when they have the coach/student dynamic.
