I was shocked when I saw the budget...
...and even more shocked when I saw the Box Office. How a film like this could make as much as it did is beyond me. It was just plain awful.
First, I'll have to admit, that the settings creating for the film are fantastic. The CG work was top notch, no doubt.
Then we have the acting of both Adrien Brody and John Cusack, who should just both be locked in a glass case that says "break glass in case of emergency of every other actor on earth having died". They were awful. And it's easy to see that Jackie Chan is going that way, as well.
Then, of course, is the story, which is completely ridiculous. Everything from repairing multiple huge walls in 15 days to the whole idea of all of these empires coming together to fight the evil Roman American. It's bunk. All of it.
I'd love to hear what Roger Ebert would say about this one.
