shareYeah I got that vibe right from the start when the scavenger presents his stuff to the trader who gives him next to nothing in return. Then 2 minutes later his new friend gets almost abducted.
To be fair though the movie rapidly took a different path after that. Good film, very entertaining.
You late this came out before Star Wars: The Force Awaken I would say it's the other
way around because people just now seeing this. This movie never had a world wide released in the U.S. it a international film.Turbo Kid was played at many film festivals and Sundance somewhere in January 2015 until it was released in the U.S.in August 2015 but not worldwide. Other country like the UK seen it in June 2015 was released by lionsgate UK post on turbo Kid Twitter page.
When this film was released in January 2015 in Canada the Sundance film festival this was winning many awards and a fresh rotten tomato award post on directors Facebook page. a lot people was raving how good this was but it sucks you just now catching on. It's 2016 and people still talking about how this is their top favourite movie on Twitter, instagram, Facebook and YouTube.
People that seen Turbo Kid when it released in August 2015 and after Star Wars:The force Awaken people on Twitter was raving how Star Wars: The Force Awaken had similar story plot like Turbo Kid when it was released.
But Turbo Kid also hold it's own with memorable characters Apple, Skeletron and The Kid.
I love the whole Retro in this film and the junk trashy art; Also you gotta love the
Costume designing they did for each character very original and creative. I was very impress with Skeletron costume the iron skull mask and the object on his hand very original.
if you go to the Turbo kid hastage on instagram you would see cosplays of Apple,The kid and Skeletron.

Wasn't force awakens basically a remake of the first Star Wars film? Because what's you just described sounds like 'Star Wars a new hope' as well.
