question about John Caleo's family *** Spoiler Alert ***

Spoiler Warning

From what the screenwriter said after yesterday's London screening, it sounded like both the Caleo and Conigrave families had seen and liked the film ... but it portray's John Caleo's dad as an unpleasant character - particularly with regard to John's funeral arrangements ...

My question is - does anybody know if the Caleo family ever expressed remorse or gave Tim an apology for their behaviour ?

In an interview on a Melbourne radio station, John Caleo's mother said she said she had never read the book, watched the play or seen the film. She said something to the affect that she she had no knowledge of HIV or being gay at the time but now come to believe that god made us all different and that was ok.

thanks for that. was the interview a while ago ?

i got the impression from what Tommy Murphy said, that she had recently seen the film (and commented positively).

The interview took place last in September last year. You can listen yourself on Sound Cloud if you google: Lois Caleo and Anna Davison (nee Conigrave) chat to Libbi Gorr.
