Why is John Kim still in this show?

He and/or his character is so incredibly annoying.

reply

Well, I'm the weirdo who doesn't want to see him go simply because I'm watching his learning curve.

reply

I fail to see how being annoying means he shouldn't be in the show. If you haven't already noticed, half the time the others aren't overly enamoured of him either. Flynn outright doesn't like him.

I find it adds something interesting to the team dynamic.

reply

Him & Flynn should both go. I still can't understand anything he says. I thought I'd get used to his accent by now, but it's so thick, I just don't know what the hell he's saying 1/2 the time.

reply

Flynn is THE librarian. The others are lots. He started this whole thing.

Without those two, the show would lose its humor.

I don't know why people have trouble with the accent. I can understand better than stone who is prone to mumbling.

reply

No he didn't start anything. He is just the current Librarian, like those hundreds before him.

reply

He created the librarians in training. He found the library and brought it back. And he started the series. Since he's barely in it, not sure what your problem is.

reply

Really? Ezekiel Jones is funny and adorable.

reply

I did think it was hysterical in this past episode that was playing off his ego. The way Stone was asking the leading questions and just watching Jones run wild with the answers. It was perfect.

reply

Exactly, he adds humor.

reply

He's my favorite character.

reply

I don't get why so many are down on him. I love his character and how Kim portrays him. He adds levity to a group where everyone is so serious. The livable fool is standard in literature. He's also their expert. Tonight, he risked his life.

He is the single worst aspect of the show. Why did they have to make his character a complete and total idiot?

reply

What makes him a idiot? Because you don't like him? He has his own way, but it's not like he is stupid or anything :S

reply

To me what makes him an idiot is e.g. when he ordered pizza and then just thought robed guys that asked if he was the speaker (don't remember the word they used) were delivering his pizza. Really? And then to top that off he didn't care one bit that he had messed everything up by being a total idiot.

reply

i like him. he reminds me of jackie chan.

reply

If he wasn't there and they replaced him with someone that agrees with the other two all the time, you would say it's boring. Maybe it reminds you too much of work. If it does, get another job.

reply

It's not his character that is a problem. It's his acting. It's terrible. Even for a show that is so campy and over the top, his acting comes across as too pantomime like. His accent isn't very thick at all. It's fairly a mild Australian accent so if anyone can't understand it, then it says more about their own limitations than his accent. The writers do make his character say "mate" way too much though. Australians don't say mate that much for no reason.
