Loved the Finale

Didn't see that ending coming. Sure hope we get another season.

Apep's gonna give me nightmares.

You see the destruction that she-beast laid? I'm being risk-averse, considering.

I have to be honest, I thought "Flynn's gonna die... or Charlene will come back and sacrifice herself..."

All those pieces and past eps came together for the perfect answer.
I really enjoyed it  Far too often a season finale sucks socks. Ya end up going "Wait? What about..." or just plain "huh???"

The only thing that made me "Huh" was them all deciding not to use their gifts or magic.
Cass has a gift, unsure if Jacob can give a soul again, and not using magic is gonna be rather hard when they use the Clippings Book and back door daily!

I can't wait to see what they have in store next season (hopefully we get another one)

For me, most season finales suck because they end in a cliffhanger to give a start to the next season. I like finales that wrap up the season to make way for a new one.

I know they said they weren't going to use magic any more, but added they WOULD use it "only as a last resort." I kind of like that, because it ensures they won't win their battles TOO easily.

I'd like to know what they consider a last resort. In this episode, they could still have won without using magic. Magic was only brought into play to save Flynn's life. Does this mean they'll let him die in the future?

reply

I take it to mean they will use magic if they have to, like to save Flynn's life. But they have brought up before that the use of magic has consequences. They want to avoid potential consequences when possible.

I hate when writers of shows like this back themselves into corners by making the main characters OP so they have them intentionally cripple themselves. I mean it was only a matter of time before Cassandra became the only nessesary librarian given her abilities so they have her underutilized to let other people pull their weight i guess. I mean why is Ezekiel even on the team? (But i digress) having been around magic for as long as they have they should have more insight then anyone about how to use magic responsibly instead of going for straight up abstinence.

but if they had another storage area for the library then will the col give them the artifacts back

It was a great finale. It even worked well as series finale, if that's the way things worked out. Everything wrapped up well, nice and tidy.

disagree. writers flippety-flopped so hard on flynn's character development. he's already realized he needs to befriend the other librarians and has learned of their merit, but he still needs to learn to play well with others? duh. and he is still lying to eve? and abandoning eve yet again? after the whole alice in wonderland - FINALLY-character progression thing with him?

thinking the writers are hella stupid.
