What is up with Cassandra and Jenkins?

Loving the show, unabashed shipper of Cassandra and Jake (I will not apologize).

Regardless of your shipping habits, where the heck did the random romantic sideplot of Cassandra and Jenkins come from in the Eternal Question? Am I the only one who was blindsided by that?

Like, I get them needing a reason to explain the Jenkins/Charlene subplot, but really - throwing Cassandra at Jenkins as an exposition device was a little tacky. I thought Devlin had a higher opinion of women than that.

It didn't come out of nowhere, and Cassandra was not just thrown at him. I encourage everyone to go back and re-watch the entire show, and actually watch how Cassandra's interactions with Jenkins progress.

I refuse to believe I am the only person who was not surprised by this.

reply

I didn't think it was out of nowhere either. I seemed to recall some looks or implied feelings earlier on. I dig it.

I don't think it was out of nowhere.

Cassandra always looked up to Jenkins and admired him. I can see how she would start to grow attracted to him.

reply

it seemed out of place for cassandra to be kissing the vampire girl and going after Jenkins I didnt get that now Jenkins and the dulek! something was going on there! I was expecting them to be kissing place I wouldnt put it past jenkins to be at least bisexual

Obviously she was desperate... with the cancer. She was trying to cash in on that immortality deal from both ends...

Lindy Booth herself has said that this was what was going on. She tried to force a romantic relationship because of the circumstances and a need to cling to immortality. The moment they shared just before her surgery was about love, but not romantic love.

When they were all eavesdropping on Jenkins and Charlene, she seemed more gleeful to have discovered the identity of his secret love than upset by it.

Souns about right. It seemed to me she wanted to get to know him more on a personal level, and maybe "share" some of the immoratlity and insight with him.

If she was actually in love with him the whole time, it would have meant that she didnt have any extra special feelings for Jake then...

Sure the final episodes didnt give anything us in that direction whatever. :(

I don't remember if it was specifically mentioned in The Librarians, but in most versions of Arthurian legend, Galahad (Jenkins) is Lancelot's (Dulaque's) illegitimate son.

Dulaque(Lancelot) and Jenkins (Galahad) are father and son.

I actually don't think that it seemed out of place for her to kiss the vampire girl. There are more than a few hints that Cassandra is lesbian or bisexual (her being prince charming in that first season fairy tales episode, for example).

I will NEVER stop shipping Jake/Cassandra b/c they have such "off the charts chemistry", they are just adorable when sharing scenes w/each other. I will wait if that what it takes b/c they are worth it!
