Blatant Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll knock-out

"Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll" summary: A middle-aged once famous rock singer, who desperately wants his glory days back, finds out he has a talented daughter, who wants to reunite and front his old band.
Poor thinking, money-based artistic decision. Sad.
I rest my case.

It's "knockoff" not "knock-out." 😄

Walken's character is not middle-aged. He's old. 70+. And no, he did not "find out" he has a talented daughter. He's always known his daughter has a talent for playing music and singing. That's why he wanted her to aim higher and become a professional singer instead of just playing bass for a band. The movies are quite different. Only similarity, imo, is that Walken's character did indeed want to become a singer again.

Thanks for the "knockoff" mistake. My bad!
Sure, they couldn't make a film EXACTLY like the other one. The guy is older, it's another kind of music... etc etc. I just felt cheated upon when I was sold the same idea just because producers want to minimize risks at all costs, instead of coming up with a whole new idea.
