She's been sexually assaulted...

and a person enters her hospital room, sits on the bed behind her and places his hand on her thigh and she doesn't even flinch? He doesn't identify himself until after he's grabbed her leg, so she doesn't know it's her dad.

Can't she act? or maybe the director was sleeping through this scene? Anyone subjected to trauma would not want to be touched.

This movie was terrible! Very hard to watch. The scenes in the beginning with the detective were laughable. I can't believe they put this on television.

reply

I feel that movie was *beep* We need to blame the girl also!! Don't get drunk and shake your ass around boys and expect they don't you want them!! Look at the pictures she took with them!! As a teen, I never been in a situation where alcohol lessen my ability to be unaware of my surroundings!! Instead of blaming the boys teach your girls!!!

reply

That's no excuse. They GANG-RAPED her WHILE SHE WAS RESISTING, KICKING AND SCREAMING. There is plenty of blame to go around, but only 3% of it goes to Sam. The entire "football complex" teaches the boys that they are super-special, and entitled to take what they want, by force if necessary. The coach drummed attitude that into the players, but that doesn't excuse them. They are guilty dogs and should be executed.

Plenty of blame to go around. Modern American culture in the post-feminism, post-sexual-revolution era is also to blame. America has lost its moral centre. Promiscuous and premarital sex are no longer considered immoral; almost nothing is immoral any more. Rape is no longer a capital crime; it's hardly more than a misdemeanor. When I graduated from high school, over 90% of new brides were virgins, as were over 80% of their grooms. But none of that excuses gang rape.

Sandman-68: " Plenty of blame to go around ... rape is no longer a capital crime; it's hardly more than a misdemeanor."

That is ridiculous and incorrect. The complete "blame" is on the boys. No matter what she did, SHE REFUSED SEX; they attacked and raped.

Secondly, I'm not sure if rape was ever a Capitol Crime regarding the death penalty. It is ABSOLUTELY considered MUCH, MUCH "more than a misdemeanor." Rape isn't murder; though, of course, a very, or extremely long prison sentence is normally appropriate.

No hate. Peace. :-)

There is nothing immoral about premarital sex and there is nothing wrong with not being a virgin when you marry. Sexuality is a natural thing, while marriage is culturally created.

Wow so if what your child you would blame her and obviously if it was your son who was the rapist u would defened what he did u say teach the girls better well what about the boys shouldn't they be taught better drunk or not shaking her ass or not NO MEANS NO....all of that doesn't mean she wanted to be raped these guys obviously do t know how to respect woman

b-lewis4072: "Instead of blaming the boys teach your girls!!!"

That was a pathetic, misuse of your sense of morality. Please understand this: It does not matter if she stripped naked; refusal accompanied by screaming means NO, STOP!

Many smart, rational people (especially teens) have gotten drunk and made fools of themselves. That is NOT an invitation to rape.

I hope you will now seriously rethink your ridiculous, if not bizarre statement blaming the victim, as irresponsible as that character in the movie was, and she was.

No hate for you. I wish you well. :-)

b_lewis, are you freaking KIDDING ME!?? What the hell is the matter with you!? How unbelievably self righteous! She got drunk, so she no longer has the right to say no!? So by that logic, you'd rape someone as long as they were drunk, right? Because hey, they put themselves there. I pray to God you never know what it's like to be violated like that, drunk or sober! You are part of the problem.

reply

No I'm not you are the freaking problem if you don't teach your daughter better!! Teach her to respect herself and not go getting drunk around a bunch of horny teenage guys!! You probably was just like this girl a loose girl then holler rape after it happens!! Witch!!

reply

BTW whoever you are I am 43 years old and have never been in any situation like this! I have respect for myself!! Too bad your mom didn't teach you! I have never been drunk or for that matter taking a drink or drugs and I have only been with the person I wanted to be with! Maybe you should try it and stop trying to be popular!!!

reply

What an absolute and utter moron you are.

Rape is NEVER to be blamed AT ALL on the victim. No matter what a person says/does or how they act/dress/talk, no means no. End of discussion.

Everyone reacts to trauma differently, & she was probably heavily medicated at that point as getting burned is extremely painful, plus she was obviously in shock, which does things to your nervous system.

reply

At that point she still didn't know what had happened that night cause she still couldn't remember..so if she didn't know/feel violated at that point there's not really any reason why she would have flinched at her dad touching her
