Sending a girl into space

Great movie - but I don't think at the end you would send a girl into space to do the rescue, where physical strength could certainly be an issue.

Please point out the part where Lewis' "catching" of Watney relied on her muscle strength.

Plus, there are many women that are stronger than the average male. Unless the men on the mission were bodybuilders or strongmen, your point is moot.

Oh, the old micro outlier trumps the macro notm huh? Because somewhere in the world there is a stronger guy so that applies to the petite red head and 6 foot 200 pound Beck?
lol at using rare exceptions to trump norms and high probabilities.
Exceptions to the rule do not negate the rule.
In the novel Beck got him....Lewis stayed in the ship.

lol @ the predictable responses that we should ignore biology or we are sexist.

the human body is remarkably strong. but you need to realize something, strength training is not building strength its releasing strength that already exists. studies show that the average human(both male and female) could move 20 tonnes if we could apply every muscle fiber to a lift. lifting weights and doing strength training allows one to simply use more of our natural strength.

men on average have 20% more muscle mass them Woman but this only means that woman have to train 20% harder to develop themselves to the same level. and this 20% harder thing isn't always true as some people have fluid muscle's that can develop at a faster rate. it also depends on the training you are done. and logically speaking. when a person is chosen by NASA to go into space they have to go through various physical tests, and strength training

Hahahahaha! Strength... In Space... Where there's no gravity...

Why not?

In the book Beck went to his capsule and retrieved him, no Iron Man flying or 5'4" 130 pound girl playing the physical space grab over the 6'0" 200 pound guy.
