Question about the acting...

How is the acting in this movie? I understand the writing isn't that great, but what the actors? I see a talented cast so I'm curious.

Have you ever heard the expression "phoned it in"? That describes the acting in this.

In my personal opinion: Hopkins did the best with the material of the group. Akerman also put in a typically solid performance. I think Byung-hun Lee had great presence, but his character was obnoxiously underdeveloped.

Now for the bad: Essentially everything else. Eve and Duhamel both had the emotional range of a brick wall in this and both are on screen A LOT. This is definitely one of Pacino's weaker performances. His emotion is believable enough, but the put-on accent almost seems like a parody and the character himself and his motivations are written in a very unconvincing way. Stiles, who I usually think is decent, was very one-note. A lot of this is probably more due to the script and characters than the actual performers, but it was mostly bad. I think Akerman and Hopkins were solid, though.
