Please do yourselves a favor and watch "Masada" (1981) instead. It was a brilliant miniseries starring Peter O'Toole in one of his greatest performances. I saw it when it first came out and have never forgotten it. It's available on DVD. You won't regret it.

How refreshing to watch a historical series with long scenes of INTELLIGENT dialogue, fine acting (especially by Peter O'Toole, but everyone was good - even the common legionaries had their moments) and historical authenticity (though it is now thought that the Romans wouldn't have used slaves for engineering work but that would have been done by soldiers who were experts at it). I didn't mind the fiction that people could have shouted to be heard up the mountain, as it allowed for some great dramatic exchanges. But "Masada" was a first class production and so far above "Dovekeepers" on every level except a few dated special effects that you can hardly even talk about them together.
