shareDid you watch it? The women were keepers of the Doves. They took care of them and cleaned up the waste to put on the gardens. The primary characters were the "dove keepers".
shareBut the doves had very little to do with anything. Perhaps it was important or symbolic in the book, but in the film they might as well have been weavers or sheep herders as far as it went to have the film named after something that accounted for mere minutes of screen time.
