How much sex/nudity is in this?

I know HBO is airing this later so just wondering.

reply

How much "sex/nudity"...?

Tons! It's basically porn.

Please tell me which version you were watching!

reply

i think from now on , when ever the first question someone asks is "how much sex/nudity is in this" we should all exaggerate to th point of explicitness,
so the scaredy cats don't get to watch good content

seriously i see this question on nearly every R/18+ rated thing,

it isn't the sex and the nudity that is killing people, it is the violence, and that is not me advocating any kind of censorship

reply

So *beep* true.

Best comment in years!

To be fair man, some people might ask to avoid awkwardness in case they are watching it in the living room with parents or kids around. I know that's why I usually ask.

its rated TV MA you shouldn't be watching it with anyone under 14,
parents shouldn't be a big deal, they are older then you, had sex to create you, and most likely have seen worse then you, its not like its porn,
before every who airs that is tv-14 or above they give you a content advisor,

but people are generally too prudish

reply

Right, guess I never personally watch on tv so I usually miss those content advisors and what not. It was awkward watching Game of Thrones when a sex scene randomly came on since I'd have to lower the volume real quick lol.

"parents shouldn't be a big deal, they are older then you, had sex to create you, and most likely have seen worse then you, its not like its porn,"

I get what you mean, in theory. Haven't you ever felt awkward when a sex scene pops up around parents man?

when i was a child, we watch game of thrones as a family, i watch outlander with my mom, watched true blood with my mom,

its not like it is porn made to excite,
i had when people try to compare HBO shows and the like to pornography, doesn't even come close to softcore pornography, the points of the show is never the sex,

maybe in a repressed family that had sheltered their children to the point of having them live under a rock should there be embarrassment,

why don't we feel awkward when we are watching people get murdered on TV?
murder is so much worse then sex, destruction of life rather then creation

reply

I assure you that your family situation is the exception, and not the rule. No offence man.

Hmmm...

are you american? or canadian/british?
that might be the difference

when you go to an art gallery with you parents, do you awkwardly cover you eyes or shuffle off?

and i don't understand what you mean by hmmm? are you disagreeing about the thing about violence, or thinking about it?

someone once used an anaolgy to defend violene vs sex on tv,
caveman hits woman over head with club, then cave man brings her in cave for sex out of view,

yeah i doubt it , i am sure there was a little george micheal in every caveman

Canadian.

"when you go to an art gallery with you parents, do you awkwardly cover you eyes or shuffle off?"

No lol, I think that's a poor analogy.

Hmmm indicates I was thinking about it.

reply

i don't think it was a bad analogy, entertainment is art,
unfortunately the puritanical nature of america has seeped upwards a little,
especially after 10 years of that crap head steven harper,

canadians don't have the same television restrictions,
CBC aired game of thrones this summer, at least the first season, uncensored with reduced adverts,

outlander airs uncensored on showcase a basic cable network, the advertisers don't seem to have a problem, i am just flad i don't live down south

where the evangelicals voted for a man who several times throughout the campaign basically flaunted his sexual assaulting ways, despite going against everything they believe in because their head is so brainwashed by a 2000 year old book, that they can't see the forest for the trees

reply

Well, not everything that doesn't kill anyone is good. Anyway, one could say that ot does physically harm anyway.

I'm not saying showing nudity is always bad, but it is most often used wrongly in entertainment.

reply

The violence in movies isn't real. The sex/nudity is. It is a sin and thus kills the soul. Which damns one to hell.

reply

Sex and nudity are a sin indeed and your parents should never had seen each other naked. This would have saved the World from people like you.

reply

The sex is real? Seriously? ^^

reply

I have always found it strange that watching characters enjoy themselves is offensive yet watching people suffer and die is just fine.

reply

seen first 8 eps and i remember only 2 sex scenes lasting few seconds, no boobs.
pretty mild for hbo

reply

which version did you watch?
In my version, there are TONS of boobs (but beautifully shot).
From eps 1 to 8, I think every episode has at least 1 nudity scene.

reply

it is very tame for hbo standards in respect to nudity,
there is 1 F word,
no violence seen on screen, despite the deaths of 4 characters

reply

Ep 1 has a full nude shot of Jude from the back. Very beautifully done. Nice to see the Pope naked....er I mean, the Law. ;)

reply

Not a lot. Two sex scenes, but the second one in episode 6 is quite graphic. Boobs, bush, butts, male-on-male, male-on-female, and a threesome.

reply

no sexual organs though, so i don't think it qualifies as graphic, it was more artistic

reply

Can't be anywhere close to the levels seen in the Borgias, that's for sure.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

I had to stop watching Borgias because of all the sex. LOL! I don't need all that in my tv shows. I'm trying to watch a good story, not a porno.

reply

i had to stop watching borgia because it was boring as *beep*. they had no idea how to tell a story. it was very high budget and incredibly lush but horribly boring. then i watched THE borgias and it was really good even though it was lower budget and the casting wasn't as good.

reply

just because there is sex doesn't make it a porno,
sex is part of life,

reply

Duh! Do you get jokes? I know it wasn't a porno, but it felt like it was. I love sex. I have sex all the time. LOL! I just don't want to see other people having that much sex on a show that doesn't really need it.

Also moviefan098 it did get boring real quick. :)

reply

does a story every really need anything? the director felt it was needed, it often adds to the emotional weight of the story

reply

This is the modern version of The Borgias

reply

Not enough.

reply

just here to 'like' this commment

reply

"Like" oh wow

reply

Jude Law is nude throughout the series and, just as at the real Vatican, there are daily orgies involving children and kangaroos. Two very explicit scenes with Pius XIII and a kangaroo.

Oh, and in every other sentence the Pope drops the "F Bomb." Even when he's speaking Latin.

I mean, this is HBO, right?
