Question about the end (SPOILER!)...

SPOILER, be warned:

In the end scene, the daughter was obviously injured. I assume, shot? But the thing is: It looked from the overhead that she was shot in the middle of the small of her back! But then the father was checking her sides it seemed. Question is: Was she supposed to be shot there? Was she supposed to be paralyzed? She said "I don't hurt anywhere" after surgery, and was on her side... was this the point, that she was now paralyzed? Everyone seemed too happy for that... but I'm confused. What think you all?

I was thinking the exact same thing. She got shot square in the back. I went back and rewatched the scene where she got shot as it all happened so fast. And when she said I hurt anywhere. I took to mean that as she is paralyzed.
