Well it was watchable but too many shots of our new hero trying to run like Linford Christie.
The central conflict between some of the characters as to whether you take out someone in the middle who has hurt a friend / innocent person or wait for the big fish was a bit weak.
I'll watch next week's episode in the hope it will get better.
With Trevor eve in it more should improve!

Just read some of the newspaper reviews and they're mainly negative and I agree with the one user review on here that the opening titles were dreadful.
I will watch it next week but so far the newspapers have got it right. Its really dull.

I have to admit I didn't find it particularly watchable. It may be that the first episode was laying the groundwork for the future episodes, but it was so clunky. The scripting and character development was not remotely subtle, establishing character traits by smashing you over the head with set piece scenes and relationships. The set up for Ash's work partner being shot was so telegraphed it was untrue - anyone who didn't see that coming way before it happened simply wasn't paying attention. Maybe Trevor Eve will improve the show, but I've seen enough duff shows starring Eve to know that is not a given. He's not able to rescue a turkey.
I enjoy this genre so hoping for improvement, but am fearful it won't improve sufficiently to make it worth persevering with.
I think you're right. It did have all the makings of a turkey. Regarding the opening scene it was as though the story writers had never seen a dramatic set up like this before and had perhaps emerge from a bunker where they'd been living without contact with the outside Work for 40 years.
Maybe they are just very young. I wrote my own user review too which I feel sums the whole thing up. I wonder if the producers or actors have read this page - if so they maynot consider a second series.
But you can blame him for a lacksure response. I think he'd make an great moody right hand but as a lead... I dunno. Shock me in the future episodes! Please.
