Surprised by negative views

Ive enjoyed this show so far - I'm surprised by the negative views I know it's a bit the same each week but I like it.

I don't think that the first episode was very good and that has put some people off. Personally I think that the series has improved a little as it has gone on and the episode with "The Viking" was the best episode so far.

I have just submitted the plot outline for episode 6 and have to say that it is beginning to get a bit repetitive now with a new 'villain of the week'. I hope that some of the sub-plots and supporting characters will continue to get more screen time to counter balance that.

I am too.
The show has progressed nicely at a good pace and having watched the penultimate episode I think we have reached a point where the final episode should be a real eye opener. I have seen the negative views and just cannot see where these reviewers are coming from. This is no worse than many of the dramas of a similar vein. I would just wish that reviewers that claim the show is rubbish would qualify such statements with more precise descriptions of what is making them unhappy.

Although I quite enjoyed the show, I found it to be way too formulaic, too much like an American "crime drama". There were just too many foot chases, too many car chases, too much of the hero who is so much more brilliant than any of his colleagues, too many punch ups, and far, far, far too many closeups of the hero's face looking doleful and baleful.

The last point was the one that I found the MOST annoying. It was almost as though the director had said, "When I zoom in on your face, I'll hold the shot there for ten seconds and I want you to stare as menacingly at the camera as you can."

I think they took what could have been a good British crime/suspense/mystery drama and turned it into a "Crash 'em, Sock 'em" American-style actioner.

It got negative reviews because it was dire.

It's that man again!!
