It's not the 'Man from Uncle', but I NEVER miss it!

I've been intrigued with the El Rey line ups since the channels inception, and I must say, their programming and shows have successfully proven themselves as a driving force in a competitive market. I've been watching Matador from its beginning and I'm hooked, looking forward each week to every episode. While the acting isn't always the best, and many times, that could be accredited to the scripts sometimes corny writing, I look forward to the show religiously (and that's coming from an atheist)!
I really enjoy the casting choices, but am sorry to hear about Elizabeth Peña's passing, as she was so perfectly suited in her role as Tony's mother. The actor that plays his brother does a great job in his roll, playing an obnoxious relative trying to make a quick buck by taking advantage of Tony's new found success on the soccer field.
I am very excited to find out that they plan to have a second season. I look forward to seeing if we are rescued by a vaccination and not die off in masses from being exposed to the deadly plague. Also, how is it that only a minute group of wealthy people will be able to survive. Killing off those numbers of people would make existence similar to that of a post-apocalyptic world. There's so many directions and various plot lines that can happen in future seasons. This leaves me wanting for more.
If you haven't watched the first season, find it on Amazon Prime or Netflix, or wait until next season and see if they run a Matador Marathon before the new season. Remember, the best part is the story line (the central theme). Just put aside the fact that it's doesn't have the most high tech effect equipment, and the actors are at times, held back by the quality of the script.
I love the show and can't wait until the next season to start! :^)
