Zilpha's constant deer in the headlights look
Is really beginning to bug me. The actress's bad acting is a thorn in the otherwise superb cast.

I can't argue about it being somewhat annoying, but I think it's gotten more pronounced the last three episodes because the character is slipping off her hinge, and that's how the the actor is playing it. Just speculation, of course.
shareI think she's a woman who is struggling with the expectations of society as well as her own beliefs and now obvious mental breakdown, all the time trying to deal with an abusive husband, I believe she's going for stoic and preternaturally controlled. I thought when Miss Bow visited, you see the realisation in Zilpha's face where she recognises a potential threat to her realtionship with James and that IMO is why she did what she did.
shareDefinitely more noticeable in the last couple of eps as she becomes more unhinged but she's overdoing it just a tad.
