Why no health insurance?

I thought the Affordable Care Act was: 1) the law of the land and everyone had to have it and 2) a way for everyone to have health insurance. So why doesn't Natalie and/or her son have it? I know this is Tyler Perry's way of trying to make a point but I think he's missing the mark on this one.

I'm not trying to go all political about this but it was an obvious plot point in tonight's episode. Natalie even mentioned it 2 or 3 times... but then again, every character on this show mentions every line of dialogue 2 or 3 times!!

Oh my goodness! I said the same thing, if TP wanted to make a point he should've thrown that in. Dang girl everybody and their mother signed up for Obama care.

I laughed when that lady walked away and never came back lol..

That would never happen in real life. She would surely be fired for that.

reply

Natalie better sue the hospital if Joey dies for not having health insurance.

reply

To the OP.
Yeah, ACA maybe the law of the land, but believe me, there are LOTS of people walking in around with ZERO insurance. This is just Tyler trying to make a point on poor/disenfranchised people getting the short end of the health care stick. Again, done over the top (like everything else on this show) No one would just get up and leave. She never even got his social security number!!

reply

Didn't he just get out of prison? But, that being said isn't he working at the burger restaurant? He then should have coverage.

I thought the same thing. What happened to "Affordable Care Act"? They were clearly trying to make a point but it was so missed.
