So Max disapproved of the sisters lifetyle?

Putting aside the open Lesbian kissing moment in the pub - I can accept the one in the drunken party to a lesser extent... 1940 and all...

But 2-3 times it seemed clear that Brad's character had issues with it... and the looks from the GF and him walking out of their flat to me confirms it.

Wonder if there was a cut scene/confrontation....??

I absolutely agree. Same sex romances would never have been acceptable in 1942.

It seems to me that they have gay couples in a lot of movies these days (not that there's anything wrong with that), I just don't understand why they would risk the integrity of the movie by putting something in that is "in your face" inaccurate.
Hollywood wants to be politically correct, which is no different than having someone walking with an iPhone in 1942!

I have no problem with Pitt's character's sister being in a lesbian relationship, but in the early 1940s it would have been kept as low-profile as possible, not flaunted in public, especially when his sister was in uniform.
