Please go back to the original version's animation

The original Appleseed was groundbreaking, much like the original Ghost in the Shell. It consisted of mostly hand-drawn animation. Appleseed 2 Ex Machina was cheaply CGI rendered, and this film looks more like a Final Fantasy film than Appleseed. The original was much much better, so why not go back to its style? Is it cost or a stylistic choice? If you opt for a CGI style you either do it really good (like Final Fantasy : The Spirits Within) or not do it at all. If you cannot be proud of the results examine the original Appleseed.

The thing with the 'original' Appleseed is that it looked unfinished.
Also you do realize that technically the original Appleseed is the OVA from 1988, right?
But I do agree about either doing CGI with all you've got or not doing it at all. Spirits Within still looks amazing.

Its called progress and I thought the animations was stunning and amazingly realistic in many scenes - plus the sound was great.

I am 51 and can remember when Ghost first came out and can tell you back then people complained about the animation too. Every time there is an advance people pine for that they know and grew up with.

No, the "original" was cel-shaded CGI, not hand-drawn. (Unless you're talking about the 1986 OAV, which wasn't groundbreaking.)

This one looks way better.

I agree with you (If you are talking about the 2004 version).
Although ExMachina has better special effects, and the characters are better rendered, the CGI makes them lose their "soul".
Now they look like plastic mannequins with no expressions.
