The director's 1st two Appleseed movies were phenomenal. This one was so lacking in layers & powerful storytelling. This one even recycled fighting a mobile fortress at the end. The characterizations felt shallow. Felt like the protagonists didn't have enough to do.

I am the sad because this was such a missed opportunity. The budget & artistic talent were there, but the characters and story were abysmal. I keep hoping they'll make more Appleseed & Vampire Hunter D films. I shouldn't hold my breath but one can dream.
