Gary kemp's ego?

Just wondered if anyone else has encountered an ego as large as Gary kemp's before? Obviously the man has talent and the three hits that spandau ballet had will stand the test of time but did anyone else get the impression that Gary kemp thought he was on par with geniuses like Clapton, lennon and Dylan? Sbotww was an enjoyable documentary but if you werent born and didnt experience the music scene at the time first hand, you'd be lead to believe that spandau ballet were some kind of supergroup rather than a run of the mill band which placed heavy emphasis on style over substance!

If you were a child of the eighties like I was then you will know that Spandau Ballet was huge and was one of the groups that dominated the decade.
Now I don't think anyone is going to say that they are on par with the Beatles or the Stones but they were pretty bloody good in their heyday.
That said - yes, Gary was absolutely central to both the making and the breaking of the group and yes, he did have a bit of an ego - but really he was the sole writer in the group so he had something to be egotistical about.
