Keep reading or watch Season 3?

I only started watching Poldark in the last few months. After seeing both seasons, I started reading the books. I'm on Warleggan (book 4) now. Should I keep reading or will this ruin the shows?

Remember when I told you my boss was a sniper?

I'm currently on "The Stranger From The Sea", which is book 8. But I also saw the original Poldark so I know what's gong to happen. Considering Aidan Turner has said he can't play a 50 year old man, the show may only do up to "The Angry Tide".

I'm enjoying reading the books, so I'm going to read til the end. I thought "Stranger From the Sea" had the best Ross/Demelza scene in the whole book series.

This makes me so excited to get to this book!

Perhaps they should hold off on the later books until Aidan Turner is a 50 year old man. Or at least cast an older actor in the role, or use effects to make Turner look older. He's already 35 so they only have to make him appear 15 years older.

I would wait and not read until after you've seen the next season. However, that's just me. Seems like a lot of people like to read the books first, but to me, they're the ultimate spoilers. The drama no longer becomes dramatic, just an exercise in seeing how they adapted the books, which doesn't appeal to me at all. I also saw the 70s version back then so I also know what's going to happen. I wish I didn't. It really makes the whole thing pretty predictable. I'll be glad when they get past what I've seen already and things can be a complete surprise again.

"How was the war, sir?"
"As any war—a waste of good men." (Poldark)
