She weren't bad, but the performance was noticeably affected with an actor's interpretation of a hopeless drunk's mannerisms. Nic Cage in Leaving Las Vegas or Nick Nolte in most roles from the 80s onward come to mind as more believable. If you're into pro wrestling, Karen Jarrett gives a method actor's masterclass in drunk performance.

Is this one of the best portrayals of a drunk person on screen? Blunt seemed so believable... Usually actors don't get it right, but she nailed it, every time!

Can you think of other comparable performances?

but yeah, nolte's great at playing alcoholic
