one of the best i've seen in awhile

It could have been worse, that's for sure.
And considering they had no money some of the effects are good.

But it's by no means a masterpeice.

I liked it. It wasn't perfect by any stretch, but I felt it was similar to the last Plantasm movie in terms of quality. Reggie actually gets to act a little more in this one, showing more ability that I gave him credit for. It's nice to see Angus again as the tall man. So sad he has passed, but he went out with one final great performance.

I enjoyed it, some didn't. To each their own.

Well, what do you know. Another one of these ignorant posters who decrees; if you don't like this, your not a real phan.

I have been a fan of this franchise since the initial release of Phantasm back in '79. Don't lecture me on what it takes to be a phan. There are people posting their disappointment here because they are real fans, and are articulating their expectations of what they hoped Ravager would be. Real fans, who are honest regarding their views on the movie, whether they thought it was the second coming or they thought it was terrible.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!

Considering I knew the movie was put together fairly ragtag before seeing it... and a mix of the You Tube Reggie series and some new footage... I was fine with how it came out. I was hyped to see the actors together again... a big production or some fine wine of a film... no not really expected. I pretty much knew what I was getting into when I saw it. But liked it for what it was. Just wish they had more money for possibly more locations, a tighter story, and maybe some better effects. But overall it was about what I expected it to be. You can't go in expecting Universal Phantasm II quality.. or even III or IV quality nor be too hyped up seeing how it was going to fit in the entire series. It does fit, and it sort of doesn't. I'm not saying to lower your expectations to see it either... just... it's the last, so we'll take what we can get. And seeing the actress from III near the end was a nice touch, which almost made me think the whole alternate universes folding upon themselves seemed to not really stop despite one character kickin' the bucket. Which almost makes you think in hindsight... so who's 'soul' is... 'valid' in the universe they left us in... That in a sense in THIS series "there is no Heaven, you come to US" That maybe when the inevitable happened... the past or Earth was truly gone... and they really WERE all dead and in the OTHER Earth... on the side where the Tall Man HAD really taken over because they were now in HIS world, not the world they came from. Which makes you wonder if the Red Planet and Earth were melding...or merging which might explain (not just Reggie's dilemma) but the gravity issues gone on the Red Planet. Explaining less short jawa-like zombie workers and more 'regular' zombie workers... who knows. We could debate and make up ideas until the end of the world...

3rd generation American from a long line of Gottscheers... it was Drandul, dude!

"Real fans" should have been realistic with their expectations. This isn't a multi-million dollar film. They did this all on their own. Get over it. I think real fans appreciate what they did and the effort they made. Real fans know this franchise isn't given the opportunity it deserves, but Don and the crew still preserved to give us one last adventure with the characters we love.

I am of the firm belief that a lot of the acid spit on this film is from people who are just finding out about this franchise and thought the trailer looks decent... at least on this message board anyway.

You lead a lonely, sad life complaining about a movie for weeks on end.

Being a "phan" since my father showed me the original when I was a kid, Im seriously afraid too watch this and don't think I'm going to. It just looks so plain terrible beyond words.

Unfortunate, but the original is finally out on blu today.

Jusst watch it, there are sufficient redeeming moments to enjoy.
Althought I still think they should have toned down the 'effects'
as they only had a shoestring budget, it ain"t a turkey, far from.
Maybe it was/is not the best conclusion but still it is fun to see the usual suspects back again.
