Quick review after premiere

I have to get this off my chest... awesome! 10 stars from me!
Funny, sad and real are the words that come to mind.
Superb writing, directing and awesome cast! Laura Carmichael blew me away. Very different character to Edith. Seph drank, swore and hooked up a lot.
The cast and crew all glam'd up and looked great and the Q&A was nice. Just when I got up the nerve to ask a question, they ended it. Maybe better so.

Anyway, go see it when it's out, you won't regret it!

Saw it last night. Knew next to nothing going in. Was aware one of the two leads was in Downton Abbey but didn't know which one until I googled on the train home.

I adored this film. I'm the same age as the characters so perhaps it hit home a little as maybe I feel I going through some of the same stuff? It's all pretty universal stuff though I suppose.

The little stories they encounter along the way were great. I CRIED SO HARD at Diane's story's resolution. The humour was great too. Basically the film played me like a cheap fiddle, making me feel all the highs and lows.

The cross scene was so on the nose they even straight up say it is and then proceed to deliver one of the best monologues I've ever seen on film.

Great final line.

Last time I saw a film at the London Film Festival it was Short Term 12, which broke my heart and became one of my favourites of that year. Burn Burn Burn has done the same this year. I want to watch it again and will recommend it to whoever will listen.

The cross scene was not my favorite, maybe because I like dialogue better than monologue... but it didn't take anything away from it either. I think the talk between the friends in the church is better. Also when they are with the cult in the first night of the stopover, I love that whole atmosphere, just because it takes them away from all the grayness from before.

I've only seen the movie trailer. The reviews are very encouraging. I hope it comes to the States soon! Jack Farthing is one of my favorite actors! I first saw him in "Poldark", he's such a meanie in that one, and then it was quite a shock to see that he was hysterically funny in "Blandings'. The little bit I saw of him in "Burn Burn Burn" shows once again what an incredibly diverse actor Farthing is, very funny and touching! I wish I could have seen him in the play "Carmen Disruption" last year, (as the rent boy, 'Carmen') but, alas, the play was in London, and I am across the pond. He got many awesome reviews for that role - and apparently he was quite sexy in the role too. Once again, quite the pleasant shock! I think he has a brief mention on IMDB but alas with no photo, etc. His agents need to have it updated! :)

I'm so so glad I caught this awesome film on Netflix with my breakfast this morning! I'm personally going through a very rough time right now and have lost so many people that I love and adore in my lifetime that it was so amazing for me to watch this story!mit was emotional and uplifting for me to say the least! I'm an American with heavy roots in GB, Scotland, Wales and Ireland so I really enjoyed the beautiful places in the film! Cinematography was beautiful especially the end in Loch Lomond my mother used to sing that high road, low road song all the time when I was growing up probably learned from my Gran whom I never had the pleasure of meeting!
But I digress........I just wish to thank all involved in making this gem of a movie and Netflix for making it possible for me to watch! I have familial roots in the movie industry and know how tough it can be to even get your films made and seen so cheers to the writer, director, cast and crew.....great job!
