A girl like Margo actually end up?

I am in my 80's and knowing many Margo's in my lifetime. It's always been a bad situation at the other end. No happy ending for her personality!! The man character at the end realized it and moved on to his prom which eventually will find a real women and move on with his successful life!!

Sad but True!!

I'm wondering about this too. Was Margo sad at the end BC of a culmination of things, or just the immediate situation of the cheating boyfriend? Did she sacrifice graduation and a HS diploma over a situational moment? If she'd really lived her whole life "feeling her heart beating in her chest" - the recipe that shook Q into such a much better place - then why wasn't this approach working for her?

Side question -- Did she ever learn that Lacey didn't betray her? Lacey seems to be her only misjudgment. In an age where you can't run a red light wo repercussions she got away w a minor reign of terror and w the exception of Lacey all the others truly did have it coming.

Having been more of a Q than a Margo all my life I was moved by the portrayal of someone so alive who is immune to society's message that we must toe the line 24/7 and that we'll only be happy after we have the advanced medical degree.

Margo is reading Whitman at 18 and says she's looking for someone who understands what's really important. a sequel showing what this means to her could be interesting, but maybe she's destined to be on the move, forever.

Margo's the type that'll start one of those domestic terror, environmental cause groups like in the movie East.

When she criticized Q's future plans I immediately turned to my teenage son and said "mark my words, when she's 30 she'll be working at Hot Topic wishing she still had the opportunity to marry an oncologist."

Exactly, she thinks in her mind that she knows all and is right in everyway without being a old soul. I never seen her as an old soul just a confused young person which will lead her to learn the hard way as she gets older!! ouch!!
