I hate to admit this, but people who love to troll, insult, bash, swear are the ones that let this happen! I'm very sad to hear that it's shutting down, message board is my favorite section on IMDB.. :(

I feel that I'm losing a member of my family, without the message board, IMDB is nothing

Feeling very disappointed, even though I truly confess that the haters annoyed me the whole way through but all of the users, I mean everyone, indirectly taught me how to do better in sarcasm, jokes, antics, banter and I swear to God, you guys made my days cause I laughed so hard that once in a while, my stomach ache (a good thing).

I used to be weak at sarcasm when involving a chat with friends but since I have used this application for 2 years, it keeps getting better and better.

Hate to say this but goodbye users. Hope we can talk again after this.

Farewell, message board of IMDB. :')

I've loved the messageboards here, in spite of the trolls, for so many years. I love to watch live tv and post here during the shows. And I heavily rely on the boards for real opinions on movies and not the fake reviews. I feel gutted they're removing the boards. I know they could never keep up with the trolls. It's impossible to moderate the amount of boards. But I still think it's a big mistake to take them down.

So imdb have let the trolls win ?! That's crazy . That was only a small minority . Imdb is really gonna suck now . :(

I agree! They let the trolls win. This is the place I could always come to for bits of trivia or to see if anyone else noticed this or that in a movie or show.
Booo, Imdb. Shame on you.

I thought it was more about the movie makers. They can delete bad reviews but not the message board opinions.

Users on reddit who claimed to be former IMDb employees posted that it has nothing to do with trolls. It's merely because they can't make money off of the boards so they are doing away with them. They also said that it doesn't cost anything to maintain the boards but since they can't monetize them they are getting rid of them.

I just started posting regularly but I've been reading these boards for years. If I needed more insight or opinions or couldn't figure a movie out I'd automatically come here. I've got the IMDB app too. Ugh this sucks so hard.

The trolls just took over. I knew it was a matter of time. We just can't have nice things. As a horror movie fanatic it was already hard to find places to talk before IMDB.

OK I'm getting to sappy now. Anyway I just watched this movie tonight and came here to see what people thought. Didn't even mean to type all this.

It has nothing to do with the trolls. It's being shut down because the message boards can't be monetized. Former employees have posted on reddit stating such. They are greedy bastards who only care about money.

I Agree with Everyone who spoke Good about IMDB message board i will miss it i luv discussing what i did or didn't like about movies/t.v. and so on! Even if i didn't like their take on that particular movie or t.v.show i respect there opinion!
