Frank D'Angelo is the author of most of the reviews raving about how great Frank D'Angelo's films are. He also pays people to write them too. He's a complete narcissist with only a modest amount of talent to back it up, but endless reserves of drive to keep spending the family fortune on these vanity projects that never get released. In fact, I've seen huge ads in the Toronto Sun now for ages advertising the upcoming release of Big Fat Stone, but the film still sits in limbo, the only clips of it being routinely rebroadcast on Frank's late night paid infomercial that masquerades as a "talk show".
He's already completed another film with largely the same cast of has-beens (plus new lambs to slaughter Daniel Baldwin, Michael Madsen, Doris Roberts, Eric Roberts, Paul Sorvino and more) called NO DEPOSIT. By every indication this is another one-week or less quickie that allows Frank, in a smaller role this time, to keep up his ruse of being a "filmmaker" with connections, when in fact it's just another rush vanity project that will probably sit on his shelf for years. I suppose if nothing else, the reason these actors with former. Careers keep returning to work for him is that he pays them well (and feeds them at his restaurant) and requires less than a week of their time to basically improvise a movie for him. It's like a vacation, really, although in the making of docs he airs on his paid late night infomercial "Being Frank", most of the actors try their best to faintly praise his ridiculous, sloppy working style just so they have a shot at being invited back for another easy paycheque and a hot meal at Fuggeddaboutit Supper Club.
