Thomas' wife

Why would he leave his wife pinned by the car but let his neighbour save her instead What a jerk

Coward?

reply

Because they wanted Kristian to be the hero. Completely preposterous if you ask me, but there you have it. Everybody panics in this film except for Kristian and his wife, who are both exceptionally collected, self-sacrificing and brave as fate (ie. script) would have it. Realistically, the husband (and children) would be the one(s) to be the most eager to save the wife. While it is not entirely unrealistic that the husband should be petrified, it is unrealistic that another man would even think to attempt a rescue of this woman when he was already in protective mode for his own child.

It would have been better had Kristoffer simply told Thomas to move the car or high-tail it out of there.

It would also be realistic to have people try and drive in the opposite lane, which was used by people to go on foot, ramming the pedestrians in their panic.
